Efficient storage of high-quality information and rapid access to it is crucial to today's many organizations.

The purpose of this symposium is to provide an international forum for researchers and engineers to present and discuss on various aspects of digital media information base with special emphasis on extension to and/or new applications of database system technologies.

The symposium site is located at the central part of the beautiful ancient city of Nara, close to Todaiji temple.
